VMP Covergirl - Niki Mullinix

This week’s VMP Covergirl is……Niki Mullinix!🎉

Niki, a wealth advisor and mother of three, photographed as part of the 50over50 legacy series.

Meet Niki - a powerhouse wealth advisor with Astyr Wealth, devoted mother to three daughters, and legacy-driven woman of faith.

In addition to her session to celebrate herself, her shoot included four generations of women… herself, her daughters, and her mom, celebrating strength, love, and legacy across time.

In our interview, Niki reflects on the values instilled by the women who raised her, how turning 50 deepened her clarity and faith, and why beautiful photos feel more meaningful than ever at this stage of life.

Here’s what she had to say about this time in her life…

💎 Did you have any older female role models when you were younger?

Yes, my Mom, grandmother and my aunts were all my role models.  I spent a lot of time with them because of my family dynamic and circumstances, and they taught me that family is first, everything else can be worked out.  Love makes all things possible even when you disagree.  They also taught me to work hard, and to play hard and don't ever give up despite setbacks.  Perseverance is ultimately the best gift they taught me.

💎 How did you mark turning 50? How did that feel to you?

I celebrated with a surprise birthday party that my husband and friends planned for months.  It was only the second birthday party that I had ever had that was a surprise, and it made me feel so loved and so appreciated.  I am forever grateful for the people in my life that accept me, and support me through the celebrations and challenges of life.  I also celebrated with a family Disney cruise, and a girls trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

💎 What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell myself to not be anxious, or worry, because all things work out according to plan.  I also would do a better job at setting boundaries, and having higher expectations & standards for others.

💎 Do you feel like you've changed since you've turned 50?

Yes, I am even more convicted in my values and my faith.  Knowing that I live by the Word and Truth of God makes all things possible. My personal and professional life are stronger in my values and my faith.

💎 What positives have come from being over 50?

I feel so blessed and can truly appreciate the journey that I have been on.  In retrospect, you gain perspective and understanding that  I couldn't always see in the midst of it.

💎 Do you have any goals or projects you're working on? What dreams do you have for the future?

I always have big goals, for my family, my team, and my future. I want to check off as many new cities off my bucket list with my family and see the world through their eyes.  I want to continue to grow my financial planning practice so that we are making an impact on all the families that we serve and the legacies they leave behind.

💎 What is your best advice for other women who are coming up on turning 50? What do you 'know' now?

Embrace the moment, knowing that the best is yet to come.  With age, comes wisdom and experience that you can share and influence others in an impactful way.  You have more appreciation for everyone, and everything.

💎 What do you most want people to remember about you?

I am in a busy season of life with my three teen age daughters, so I try to lead by example for them, most importantly.  Being the salt and light of the world trying to influence positive change while making an impact.  I want people to describe me as authentic, generous, loving, and strong in my faith & values.  I have attempted to do my very best in all situations, putting others' needs and feelings above my own because my faith guides me and gives me strength I need to continue to do so.

💎 Why are beautiful photos important to you right now?

I have always loved photos because of the special people and moments they capture, but more so as I turned a half century knowing that I am on the other side of my life now, everything is more precious to me.

💎 Have you ever been professionally photographed? How was that experience for you?

I have been professionally photographed, but never with hair and make up done by the professionals.  It was truly an amazing experience that made me look and feel so beautiful.  Something about someone else glamming you up was such a unique experience.  I am grateful for the opportunity.

Congratulations Niki It’s an honor to help you celebrate YOU, your strength and your journey! 🎉
